Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or small crusts can occur.

Electrolysis can be used on small or detailed areas and on a wide range of skin and hair colours. It is different from laser hair removal, which uses light and may be less suitable for some hair colours.

Choose a qualified practitioner who uses sterile, single-use probes and explains aftercare. Tell them about medicines, skin conditions, a tendency to form raised scars and any active infection. Avoid picking treated skin, protect it from strong sun while it heals, and follow the recommended cleansing routine. If unwanted facial hair is new, heavy or accompanied by other hormonal symptoms, ask whether hirsutism or hypertrichosis needs assessment.
