How common is trouble getting pregnant in uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths in or around the muscle of the uterus. A fibroid that projects into the cavity may interfere with sperm movement, embryo attachment, or the shape of the space where a pregnancy develops. Arrange a fertility assessment if pregnancy has been difficult or if imaging has shown a fibroid near the uterine cavity. Bring scan reports and a record of bleeding, pain, cycle timing, and previous pregnancies. A clinician may use ultrasound or other imaging to map the fibroid and discuss whether observation, medication for symptoms, a procedure, or fertility treatment fits your plans. Treatment decisions should account for the fibroid's position, symptoms, pregnancy goals, and other fertility factors.

Seek routine medical advice for persistent difficulty conceiving, very heavy periods, worsening pelvic pain, or pressure that affects daily activities. Get urgent help for bleeding that makes you weak or dizzy, sudden severe pelvic pain, fainting, or a positive pregnancy test with pain or bleeding. These symptoms need prompt assessment and should not be attributed to fibroids without examination.
