How common is pelvic pain in uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are growths that develop in or around the muscle of the uterus. Their size and position can affect the pattern of symptoms. A fibroid may create pelvic pressure, lower back discomfort, painful periods, pain during sex, or a feeling of fullness. Some fibroids cause no symptoms.

Seek urgent help for severe sudden pain, heavy vaginal bleeding, fainting, marked weakness, fever, repeated vomiting, or a rigid or rapidly swollen abdomen. Pelvic pain with possible pregnancy should also be assessed promptly.
