Endometriosis can cause pain around ovulation when endometriosis tissue and nearby inflammation respond to hormonal changes. Pain may be felt on one side of the lower abdomen, in the pelvis, or deeper inside, and it may last longer or feel more intense than a brief mid-cycle twinge. It can occur alongside painful periods, pain with bowel movements or urination, bloating, or difficulty becoming pregnant. Record when the pain begins, which side it affects, how long it lasts, and whether bleeding, bowel symptoms, or pain during sex occur at the same time.
