How common is loss of appetite in COVID-19?

Short answer
Loss of Appetite is a common presentation of COVID-19, although having a poor appetite does not by itself show that you have COVID-19.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Why appetite may change
During COVID-19, fever, tiredness, nausea, changes in smell or taste, sore throat and general discomfort can all make food less appealing. Appetite may return gradually as the acute illness settles. The same symptom can occur with other infections, digestive problems, medicines, stress and many other health concerns.
Pay attention to your ability to drink as well as your interest in food. Dark urine, dizziness on standing, a dry mouth or passing much less urine can suggest that you need more fluids or medical assessment.
What you can do
Take regular sips of fluid and try small portions when you can manage them. Cool or bland foods may be easier when taste, smell or nausea is troublesome. Soups, yoghurt, fruit, toast or other familiar foods can be practical choices if they suit you. Rest, and do not push through activity that leaves you breathless or exhausted.
Follow current local guidance from your clinician or public-health service about testing, staying away from others when unwell, and returning to normal activities. If you have medical conditions or take regular medicines, ask a clinician whether you need individual advice.
When to seek care
Get urgent medical help for trouble breathing, chest pain, new confusion, fainting, blue or grey lips, or inability to stay awake. Seek prompt advice if vomiting prevents fluids, dehydration signs develop, fever or other symptoms are getting worse, or you are concerned about someone at higher risk of severe illness.
Questions to ask
Ask whether your symptoms need testing or an examination, what to use for nausea or fever, and what warning signs matter for you. Mention pregnancy, immune suppression, long-term lung or heart disease, kidney disease, and any medicines you take.
