How common is headache in allergic rhinitis?

Allergic rhinitis can cause nasal blockage, sneezing, itching and a runny nose after exposure to a trigger. Congestion and pressure around the nose or face may accompany a headache. Symptoms that repeatedly occur around pollen, dust, animals or another trigger may give a useful clue.

Headaches have many causes, including migraine, tension, viral illness, dehydration and eye strain. A clinician looks at the location, timing, associated symptoms and your history rather than assuming a headache comes from allergic rhinitis.
