How common is finger stiffness in Dupuytren's contracture?

Dupuytren's contracture affects connective tissue in the palm. A firm nodule or cord may develop and gradually pull one or more fingers toward the palm. Straightening can become difficult, while bending may remain easier. The ring and little fingers are often involved, but other fingers can be affected. Finger stiffness can also arise from arthritis, tendon problems, or previous injury, so the pattern and hand examination matter.
