How common is fever in chikungunya?

Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne viral illness. Fever may start suddenly alongside severe pain or stiffness in several joints, headache, muscle aches, tiredness, or a rash. Joint symptoms can continue after the fever settles, so improvement in temperature does not always mean every symptom has resolved.
