How common is diarrhoea in typhoid fever?

Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection that can affect the gut and cause fever, fatigue, headache, reduced appetite, and abdominal symptoms. Loose stools can occur, but bowel symptoms do not follow one fixed pattern. Diarrhoea on its own cannot tell you whether typhoid fever is the cause; travel, food and water exposure, and the full symptom history help guide assessment.
