Home remedies for boils on the private area in females

A boil is usually a tender infection around a hair follicle and may develop where shaving, sweat or friction irritates hair-bearing skin. A lump on the vulva can also be a cyst, an inflamed gland or another condition. Its location and appearance need assessment when the diagnosis is unclear; a painful lump is not proof of one particular cause.

Hold a comfortably warm, clean compress against the outer skin for short periods, then pat dry. Wear loose cotton underwear, change out of damp clothing, and pause shaving or waxing. Wash hands before and after contact, avoid sex if it causes pain or rubbing, and use clean gauze if fluid drains. Do not place oils, perfume, toothpaste or harsh antiseptic inside the vagina or on irritated vulval skin.

Seek medical review if the lump is near the vaginal opening, rapidly grows, keeps returning, remains very painful, or affects sitting, walking or urination. Get urgent help for fever, chills, rapidly spreading redness, severe swelling, faintness or feeling generally unwell. Depending on the finding, treatment may involve antibiotics or careful abscess drainage.
