What should you know about hives on my neck?

Hives can develop when inflammatory signals cause temporary swelling in the skin. Around the neck, possible clues include perfume, hair products, jewellery, clothing fibres, sweat, heat, pressure, a medicine, food, or an infection. The rash may be itchy and change shape or location. Deeper swelling can affect the neck or nearby lips and is called angioedema.
