Heat rash lasting for months: what to know

Heat rash that lasts for months deserves a medical review because ongoing symptoms may reflect another skin condition or continuing exposure. Cooling measures can help while you arrange an assessment.

Simple heat rash often improves when sweat, friction, and occlusion are reduced. A long-lasting itchy, scaly, painful, or changing eruption may instead be eczema, contact dermatitis, folliculitis, infection, or another problem.
