What should you know about heat pain in stomach?

Upper abdominal burning may occur with Gastritis or Acid Reflux, particularly after meals or when lying down. Food Poisoning and Gastroenteritis may bring cramps, vomiting, or diarrhoea. Gallstones can cause pain under the right ribs, while Diverticular Disease or Crohn's Disease may cause lower abdominal symptoms and bowel changes. Coeliac Disease can cause ongoing digestive discomfort after gluten exposure. These patterns overlap, so the sensation alone cannot establish a diagnosis.

Take small sips of fluid and choose light meals if eating feels comfortable. Avoid alcohol, smoking, and foods that clearly trigger burning; remain upright after eating and loosen tight clothing around the abdomen. Do not start antibiotics or anti-inflammatory pain medicines without advice. Record when the pain begins, its exact location, relation to food, bowel changes, vomiting, fever, and medicines or supplements you take.

Get urgent medical help for severe or rapidly worsening pain, a rigid or swollen abdomen, fainting, chest pain, trouble breathing, repeated vomiting, blood in vomit, black stools, or inability to keep fluids down. Arrange a review when burning persists, returns often, disrupts sleep, or is accompanied by weight change, jaundice, fever, or ongoing diarrhoea.
