What should you know about glutathione and vitamin C IV side effects?

A needle can cause brief discomfort or bruising. If fluid irritates the surrounding tissue, the area may burn, swell, feel tight, or become painful. Some people may feel nauseated, light-headed, flushed, or generally unwell during an infusion. An allergic reaction can begin with itching or hives and may progress to swelling or breathing difficulty. The ingredients, concentration, preparation, infusion speed, and your health history can all affect risk.

Tell the administering clinician immediately about pain, burning, swelling, dizziness, nausea, itching, rash, chest tightness, or breathing changes. Do not silently continue an infusion that feels wrong. Before treatment, disclose kidney disease, kidney stones, allergies, asthma, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and every medicine or supplement you use. Ask how the clinic follows up and keep its contact details after the appointment.

Call emergency services for severe breathing difficulty, throat or tongue swelling, collapse, confusion, or chest pressure. Seek prompt assessment for rapidly worsening swelling or pain around the cannula, spreading redness, fever, pus, or a persistent feeling of being seriously unwell. Symptoms can occur after the appointment, so do not dismiss a delayed reaction.
