How to get rid of Demodex mites

Demodex are tiny mites associated with hair follicles and oil glands, especially on the face and eyelids. Their presence alone does not prove disease. When they contribute to symptoms, people may notice facial itching, rough or sensitive skin, redness, small bumps, burning, or eyelid irritation with crusting around lashes. Rosacea can overlap with these features, so a clinician may distinguish mite-related irritation from eczema, infection, allergy, or another cause.

Wash the face gently, avoid abrasive scrubs, and do not share towels, eye cosmetics, or applicators. Replace old eye makeup and clean reusable items as advised.
