What should you know about fillers for cellulite before and after?

Cellulite is a textured appearance created by the relationship between fat, connective tissue, skin, and local tension. A depression that remains visible when standing may have a different driver from loose skin or a shallow uneven surface. Filler may add support in a selected depression, but it does not address every part of cellulite.

A clinician may instead discuss options such as Carboxytherapy, Radiofrequency Skin Tightening, RF Microneedling, or Subcision. Each approach targets a different feature, so a photograph or social-media comparison cannot predict your result.

At consultation, identify the areas that bother you while standing and moving. Ask how the clinician will document the starting texture, whether more than one session may be considered, and when an outcome can be assessed. Share medicines, allergies, prior procedures, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any history of slow healing.

After treatment, expect the treated area to look different while swelling, tenderness, redness, or bruising resolve. Follow instructions about pressure, exercise, bathing, compression, and skin care. Compare photographs in similar lighting and posture only after the review period advised by your clinician.

Contact the treating clinic if pain, redness, warmth, swelling, or drainage is increasing, or if a new firm area concerns you. Seek urgent assessment for severe pain, pale or dusky skin, rapidly expanding swelling, fever with feeling very unwell, breathing difficulty, or another sudden symptom after a procedure.
