The buttocks and crease areas can stay warm and damp beneath close clothing, during exercise, or after prolonged sitting. Sweat duct blockage and rubbing may create fine bumps, prickling, itch, and patchy redness. Skin Rash and Skin Redness have many causes, including contact irritation, yeast-related inflammation, follicle problems, or infection, so the appearance alone cannot confirm heat rash. Painful deep bumps or pus suggest a different process.

Move to a cooler environment, rinse gently, pat dry, and wear loose breathable clothing. Change out of damp underwear or exercise clothing promptly. Avoid fragranced products, heavy occlusive creams, scratching, and vigorous scrubbing while the area is inflamed. A bland moisturiser may support the skin barrier; Emollient Therapy can be discussed with a pharmacist or clinician. Do not apply a steroid cream to broken or infected-looking skin without advice.

Arrange an examination if the rash spreads, persists despite cooling and drying, recurs often, or becomes painful. Seek prompt care for fever, rapidly increasing warmth, pus, blisters, open skin, marked swelling, or severe pain. A clinician may distinguish heat rash from infection, dermatitis, or another cause and may consider Topical Corticosteroids when appropriate.

Ask whether the bumps are consistent with heat rash, whether moisture or friction is maintaining them, and which cleanser, moisturiser, or medicine is suitable for this location. Mention pregnancy, allergies, diabetes, immune problems, and any product recently used on the area.
