Ear pain from pool water: what to know

The ear canal is lined with delicate skin. Water left inside can soften that skin and make irritation easier, especially after repeated swimming. Pain when the outer ear is touched or moved can fit with canal inflammation. A deeper ache, fever or hearing change may point to Middle Ear Infection instead.
