Dry Skin Around Nostrils: What to Know

Frequent colds, allergies, nasal discharge, tissues, and cleansing can repeatedly disturb the skin at the nostril openings. Dry air may add tightness and scaling. Burning after applying a product suggests irritation, while persistent itch or sharply defined scale may fit an inflammatory condition such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, or asteatotic eczema. These patterns need examination rather than guesswork.

Rinse gently and pat dry. Use a fragrance-free cream or ointment on the surrounding skin, applying a thin layer after washing and after necessary wiping.
