Dry Scalp and Skin Causes: What to Know

Cold or dry air, long hot showers, frequent washing, and fragranced products can remove surface oils and leave tight, rough, or flaky skin. Avoid picking scale and pause products that sting or leave the skin red. Note new medicines, products, weather changes, and areas involved so a clinician can identify patterns.

Book a medical assessment if dryness is persistent, cracks bleed, itching disrupts sleep, or the scalp develops thick scale, pain, oozing, or hair loss.
