What should you know about driclor for sweaty feet?

Short answer
Driclor may reduce sweaty feet by temporarily narrowing sweat ducts, but it must be applied carefully to dry, unbroken skin.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

- Moisture increases stinging and irritation
How it works
Driclor is a strong antiperspirant preparation. Aluminium chloride reacts at the sweat duct opening and reduces the amount of sweat reaching the surface for a time. It may help plantar hyperhidrosis, but it does not remove the underlying tendency to sweat.
Wet skin, broken skin, eczema, or freshly shaved skin is more likely to sting. Peeling, burning, redness, or soreness can signal irritation. Moist feet can also encourage fungal problems; scaling, itching between the toes, or a persistent odour may fit athlete's foot rather than sweating alone.
Using it more comfortably
Follow the product directions or a clinician's instructions. Apply a small amount at night to completely dry feet, let it dry, and wash the area in the morning if directed. Start cautiously, avoid cuts and cracked skin, and do not apply immediately after bathing while the skin is still damp. Wash your hands after application and keep the product away from eyes and mucous membranes.
Use breathable footwear and change damp socks. If irritation appears, pause the product and seek advice about reducing frequency or choosing another treatment. Prescription antiperspirant guidance can help when over-the-counter use is not enough.
When to seek care
Get medical advice for severe burning, swelling, blistering, marked peeling, or a rash that does not settle after stopping. Arrange review if sweating began suddenly, affects many areas, occurs during sleep, or comes with dizziness, palpitations, fever, or unexplained weight change. Persistent foot scaling or cracks should be assessed for infection.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether your sweating fits excessive sweating, whether a fungal rash is also present, and how often aluminium chloride should be used on your skin. Discuss iontophoresis or prescription antiperspirant if irritation or poor control limits this option.
