Does vulvodynia cause pain during sex?

Vulvodynia can cause burning, stinging, rawness, or sharp pain at the vaginal entrance or other vulval areas. Penetration, pressure, touch, or friction may trigger symptoms, and discomfort can continue after sexual activity. Some people have pain only when the area is touched; others have pain without contact.
