Seek medical advice for new leakage, especially when it starts alongside burning, urgency, or frequent urination. A clinician may check urine and ask about pregnancy, bowel symptoms, medicines, and previous bladder problems. Keep a short record of drinks, toilet visits, urges, and leaks.

Use a pad if needed for comfort while arranging care, but do not restrict fluids severely. Avoid antibiotics without a prescription, and arrange reassessment if leakage remains after urinary symptoms settle.

Get urgent care for leakage with fever, chills, flank pain, vomiting, confusion, severe weakness, or inability to urinate. Sudden loss of bladder control with leg weakness, numbness around the groin, or new severe back pain needs emergency assessment.
