Does tumour removal surgery treat neuroendocrine tumours?

Neuroendocrine tumours can arise in organs such as the pancreas, bowel, appendix, stomach or lung. They differ in how quickly they grow and whether they release hormones. A tumour that is localised and safely accessible may be removed with an operation, sometimes along with nearby tissue or lymph nodes.
