Does under-eye filler treat tear trough hollows?

A tear trough is a groove where the lower eyelid meets the upper cheek. When the groove creates a pronounced shadow, a suitable filler can add structure and make the contour look more even. This changes the hollow; it does not change every cause of dark colour, swelling, wrinkles, or loose skin.

The under-eye area is delicate and has important vessels, so treatment requires detailed knowledge of facial anatomy. A clinician assesses the depth and position of the hollow, the thickness of the skin, cheek support, facial movement, and any existing product. Some people need a different approach or no filler if swelling is the dominant feature.
