Does spironolactone treatment treat hirsutism?

Hirsutism causes coarse, dark hair in areas where androgen-sensitive hair commonly grows, such as the face, chest, or abdomen. Spironolactone is an anti-androgen medicine: it can lessen androgen signaling at the follicle, which may slow new growth and make hair less coarse over time.
