Does skin tag removal help with skin bumps?

Skin tags are soft growths that often hang from a narrow base, commonly where skin rubs against skin or clothing. A bump with a different colour, firm texture, broad base, central opening, scale, or tenderness may be something else, such as a wart, cyst, inflamed follicle, mole, or another skin growth. Removing an undiagnosed bump can delay the right treatment or make later assessment harder.
