Does reverse shoulder replacement treat a rotator cuff tear?

A reverse replacement changes the shoulder’s mechanics so the deltoid muscle can help lift the arm when the rotator cuff is no longer working effectively. It is not the usual treatment for every tear. The decision depends on tear size and repairability, pain, weakness, joint wear, age, activity needs and previous treatment.
