Does radiofrequency skin tightening treat jowls?

Short answer
Radiofrequency skin tightening may modestly improve mild jowls caused by skin laxity, but it cannot remove substantial loose skin or reposition deeper tissues.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How it may affect the jawline
Jowls are a sagging or uneven appearance along the lower cheeks and jawline. Radiofrequency heats targeted tissue beneath the skin, which can produce some tightening as the tissue responds. The visible result depends on skin elasticity, the amount of laxity, facial structure, and whether volume loss or heavier tissue is also involved. A non-surgical treatment may refine laxity without creating the same lift as surgery, and changes usually develop gradually rather than appearing immediately.
Planning treatment
Have the lower face examined in a neutral position and during movement. Ask the clinician to identify whether lax skin, reduced facial volume, muscle activity, or descended tissue is driving the contour. Discuss the device type, treatment depth, comfort measures, healing time, and how progress will be judged in photographs. A treatment plan should also explain when another approach would be more suitable. Read the Radiofrequency Skin Tightening guide for general treatment details.
When to seek care
Seek medical review for a new one-sided change, a firm or growing lump, skin ulceration, persistent pain, or facial weakness rather than booking an aesthetic treatment first. Contact the treating clinic promptly after a procedure if swelling rapidly worsens, severe pain develops, blistering appears, or the skin changes colour markedly.
Questions for your doctor
What is causing my jowls: skin laxity, volume change, or deeper tissue descent? Is radiofrequency likely to create a visible improvement for my anatomy? Which areas will be treated, and how will you protect the skin? What temporary reactions should I expect? What alternatives would address more pronounced laxity?

Questions people ask
Will radiofrequency give a surgical-style jawline lift?
No. It may refine mild laxity, but pronounced tissue descent may need a different treatment.
Does every jowl respond the same way?
No. Skin quality, facial structure, volume, and the degree of laxity all affect the result.
