Does pulsed dye laser treatment treat port wine stain?

A port wine stain, also called a capillary malformation, is made of widened small blood vessels in the skin. Pulsed dye laser light is absorbed by blood in those vessels and converted to heat, allowing the body to clear some of the treated vessel tissue. The stain may look bruised or darker temporarily before it fades. Colour, thickness, body area, age, and previous treatment influence the response.
