Does follow-up after cancer treatment treat lung nodule?

A lung nodule is a small area seen in the lung on imaging. Its appearance, size, location, change over time, and your medical history help clinicians decide what it represents. Surveillance can compare scans, review breathing symptoms, and arrange further assessment when needed. It does not remove the nodule or establish its cause by itself.

Keep the recommended imaging appointments and bring earlier scan reports if available. Tell the clinician about new cough, coughing blood, chest discomfort, breathlessness, fever, or unexplained weight change. Ask whether the planned review is observation, repeat imaging, specialist assessment, or a procedure. Do not assume that a scan finding is cancer, and do not delay a review because you feel well.

Seek urgent help for severe breathlessness, blue lips, sudden chest pain, coughing a large amount of blood, or collapse. Contact the clinician promptly for persistent or worsening respiratory symptoms. These signs require assessment regardless of what caused the nodule.
