Does diabetes screening treat prediabetes?

Screening may use a blood test to check how your body handles glucose. A result in the prediabetes range means glucose regulation is altered, but it is not the same diagnosis as diabetes. One result may need clinical context or repeat testing. Prediabetes often has no clear symptoms, so screening can find a change before someone feels unwell.

Treatment is a plan built around your health, eating pattern, activity, weight if relevant, medicines when appropriate, and repeat monitoring.
