Does diabetes screening treat peripheral neuropathy?

Peripheral neuropathy affects nerves outside the brain and spinal cord and may cause burning, tingling, numbness, altered sensation, or weakness, often in the feet or hands. Diabetes is one possible cause, but alcohol use, vitamin problems, medicines, kidney disease, pressure on a nerve, and other conditions can also contribute.
