Does cubital tunnel syndrome cause arm numbness and tingling?

Cubital tunnel syndrome affects the ulnar nerve as it passes behind the inner elbow. Irritation there can send tingling or reduced sensation down the forearm and into the little finger and the adjacent side of the ring finger. Symptoms may flare when the elbow stays bent during sleep, phone use, or driving. Neck irritation, wrist nerve compression, and circulation problems can also produce arm sensations, so the pattern and examination matter.

Notice which positions bring on the feeling and avoid leaning the inner elbow on hard surfaces. Keep the elbow in a relaxed, less-bent position when resting and discuss a night support with a clinician if sleep is affected. Arrange an assessment if symptoms keep returning, interfere with daily tasks, or are accompanied by reduced grip or finger coordination.
