Does CO2 laser resurfacing treat syringoma?

Syringomas are benign bumps arising from sweat ducts. They commonly occur in clusters around the eyelids, where the skin is thin and the eye is nearby. CO2 laser treatment uses controlled heat to ablate selected tissue, which may flatten or reduce the visible bumps.

The laser cannot change the skin’s tendency to form syringomas, so new bumps or return of treated bumps can occur. Healing may involve redness, swelling, crusting, and temporary lightening or darkening. Arrange medical review for a bump that changes rapidly, bleeds, ulcerates, or becomes painful. After treatment, seek prompt help for worsening swelling, pus, fever, severe pain, difficulty opening the eye, eye pain, or any change in vision.
