Does Atopic Dermatitis Cause Skin Rash?

Atopic dermatitis is linked to an overactive inflammatory response and a less effective skin barrier. The rash often feels itchy and dry. Depending on your skin tone, inflamed areas may look red, pink, purple, brown, grey, or darker than the surrounding skin. Seek prompt care for rapidly worsening redness, significant pain, warmth, swelling, pus, fever, or clusters of small blisters.
