Does internal medicine perform an annual health check?

The visit usually begins with your medical history, current medicines, allergies, family history and everyday habits. The doctor may check blood pressure, pulse, weight and other findings from a physical examination. They can discuss screening based on your age, sex, personal risks and previous results rather than ordering every available test. Concerns such as sleep, nutrition, smoking, alcohol use and emotional wellbeing may also be addressed.

Bring a list of medicines and supplements, details of past diagnoses and any recent test reports. Write down symptoms or health questions in advance, even if they seem unrelated. Tell the doctor about family conditions and changes in your routine. Ask which checks are useful for you, when results will be available and what follow-up is needed. Arrange urgent medical assessment for chest pressure, severe breathlessness, sudden weakness, fainting, new confusion or uncontrolled bleeding. A routine health check is not a substitute for prompt care when a new or worsening symptom is present.
