Does a cosmetic dermatology perform RF microneedling?

RF microneedling uses fine needles to reach a planned depth while delivering radiofrequency energy into the skin. This combination is used for selected concerns such as acne-scar texture, lax-looking skin or fine lines. The clinician controls needle depth and energy according to the area and your skin. It is different from standard microneedling, so ask which device and settings are intended for your concern.

Tell the provider about implanted electronic devices, medicines, pregnancy, active rashes, infection, cold sores and any tendency to develop raised scars or prolonged dark marks. Ask who will perform the treatment and whether numbing cream is planned. Clarify the expected redness, swelling, sensitivity and downtime, together with skin-care and sunlight instructions. Do not schedule treatment over irritated or infected skin until it has been assessed.

Some redness, warmth, swelling and tenderness may occur while the skin settles. Contact the clinic if pain intensifies, swelling continues to increase, blisters appear, discharge develops or the skin changes become extensive. Urgent care is appropriate for breathing difficulty, widespread hives or sudden facial swelling. Follow the clinic's cleansing and protection instructions, and avoid picking at treated skin.
