Dizziness, headache and tiredness

Short answer
Dizziness with headache and tiredness may reflect dehydration, poor sleep, low blood sugar or illness, but severe or sudden symptoms need urgent assessment.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.
At a glance
- Track
- Onset, headache pattern, spinning versus faintness, meals, fluids and sleep.
- Avoid
- Driving or strenuous activity while dizzy.
- Emergency signs
- Sudden severe headache, neurological change, fainting or chest symptoms.
What the combination can mean
These symptoms can occur after too little fluid, missed meals, poor sleep, a viral illness, heat exposure or prolonged stress. Anaemia, including Iron Deficiency Anaemia, can present with tiredness and lightheadedness. A headache with a spinning sensation may also fit a balance problem such as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, although that condition is usually triggered by head movement.
The pattern matters more than one symptom. Note when it began, whether the headache was sudden, whether dizziness means spinning or feeling faint, and whether fever, vomiting, vision change, palpitations or weakness are present. A symptom combination cannot determine its cause without context and, sometimes, an examination.
Practical steps
Rest somewhere quiet, drink fluids gradually and eat a light meal if you have missed food and can swallow normally. Reduce screen glare and rise slowly. Avoid driving, alcohol and strenuous activity while dizzy. Check your temperature or blood sugar only if you have a reliable device and know how to interpret the result.
Arrange an appointment if symptoms persist, recur, interfere with daily tasks or follow a new medicine. Bring a list of medicines and describe sleep, meals, fluid intake, menstrual bleeding and recent infection. A clinician may decide whether blood pressure, heart rhythm, blood count or other checks are needed.
Warning signs
Seek emergency help for a sudden severe headache, fainting, new weakness or numbness, facial drooping, trouble speaking, severe confusion, a seizure, chest pain, severe breathlessness or repeated vomiting. Do not wait for the symptoms to pass if they are abrupt or disabling.
Get prompt advice for a headache after a head injury, persistent fever, worsening drowsiness, or symptoms after substantial heat exposure. Dehydration and Heat Exhaustion can worsen dizziness and tiredness, especially when fluid loss continues.
What to discuss
Ask which features suggest migraine, anaemia, dehydration, low blood sugar or an inner-ear problem; whether your medicines could contribute; and what examination or tests are appropriate. Tell the clinician about pregnancy possibility, heavy bleeding, new supplements and the exact order in which symptoms appeared.
