What should you know about dissolving hyaluronic acid filler?

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme injected into or around hyaluronic acid gel. It breaks down the gel so the body can clear it. The result depends on the product, its location, how much is present, and whether the area has swelling or another problem. A clinician may use a small treatment area first, then reassess before deciding whether more is needed.

Dissolving may be considered for an unwanted shape, persistent lumps, migration, or a suspected blood-flow problem after filler. It does not remove every type of filler; the material must be identified first. It can also reduce filler that was giving useful structure, so the treated area may look temporarily less full.

Arrange an in-person review with the injector or another qualified medical professional, and share the product name, injection date, amount if known, and any previous reactions. Do not inject, massage forcefully, or apply home remedies to the area without advice.

Seek urgent medical help for changes in vision, severe headache, weakness, or difficulty speaking after facial filler; these symptoms need immediate assessment rather than routine dissolving advice.
