How to dissolve filler in the lips

Lips can appear uneven or fuller after treatment because of expected swelling, bruising, product position, or inflammation. Hyaluronic acid filler is the common material that can be addressed with an enzyme, but the response is individual and treatment may need careful targeting. A clinician should examine the lips before deciding whether to wait, adjust, or dissolve.

A cosmetic correction is different from treating a possible blood-flow problem. Severe pain or unusual colour change is not something to manage by waiting for a routine review.

Contact the injector or a qualified medical practitioner with the filler name, injection date, and photographs showing the change over time. Avoid pressing, massaging, or adding more filler unless specifically instructed. If the aim is a different lip shape later, discuss whether a new lip filler plan or fat transfer is suitable only after the current issue has settled and been assessed.

Seek urgent assessment for severe or escalating lip pain, pale or dusky skin, blistering, cold skin, spreading swelling, or vision symptoms. Breathing difficulty or swelling of the tongue or throat is an emergency. Do not wait for a cosmetic follow-up when these symptoms appear.

Ask which product was injected, whether the visible change is swelling or misplaced filler, whether partial treatment is possible, and how the lips will be monitored afterward. Mention cold sores, allergies, medicines, dental work, and prior filler reactions.
