What should you know about diaper rash and fever?

Ordinary irritant dermatitis affects the skin where the nappy touches it and does not by itself explain a fever. Fever may accompany a separate infection, dehydration, or a skin infection if the area is hot, swollen, rapidly spreading, blistered, or producing pus.
