What should you know about CO2 laser syringoma treatment?

A CO2 laser delivers energy to the syringoma and nearby surface tissue so the clinician can reduce the bump with controlled precision. Syringomas are usually benign, yet similar-looking eyelid bumps have different causes; examination is therefore part of treatment planning. The clinician considers lesion depth, clustering, skin tone, location and proximity to the eye before choosing laser settings or another approach.

After treatment, tiny wounds can crust and the surrounding skin can stay pink, swollen or sensitive. The bumps may not disappear evenly, and new or returning lesions can occur.
