Chick-fil-A food poisoning: what should you know?

Food poisoning can cause diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and fever. Symptoms may start after a delay, and the meal that preceded them is not always the source. Similar symptoms can come from a stomach virus, medication, or another digestive problem. Take frequent small sips of water or an [Oral Rehydration Therapy](/treatments/acute-and-urgent-care/oral-rehydration-therapy/) drink. Once vomiting eases, choose simple foods as tolerated and return gradually to your usual diet. Wash hands carefully, avoid preparing food for others while unwell, and do not use leftover food that may be unsafe. Avoid anti-diarrhoeal medicine if you have fever or blood in the stool unless a clinician advises it.
