Chemical Peel for Stretch Marks: What to Know

Stretch marks form when the deeper supporting skin changes as the body grows or its shape changes. Early marks may look pink, red, or purple; older marks often become pale and slightly indented. A superficial peel works mainly at the surface, so it may make texture or colour less noticeable without removing the mark. Glycolic Acid can be used in some peel formulas, although the right option depends on the mark's age, location, skin tone, and sensitivity. The skin on the abdomen, hips, thighs, breasts, or arms may heal differently.
