The clinician may assess the front of the cheek, the cheekbone contour, and the transition toward the lower eyelid and nose. Placement can be deeper for structural support or more superficial for a smaller contour adjustment, but the depth and route depend on anatomy. The aim is balanced shape, not simply adding product to the most visible hollow.

Bruising, swelling, tenderness, lumps, asymmetry, and infection are possible. Facial blood vessels and nerves make anatomical knowledge essential; a rare vascular problem can affect skin or vision.

Bring photographs if your appearance has changed over time, and explain whether you want restored fullness, stronger cheek definition, or softer shadows. Mention previous filler, surgery, dental procedures, allergies, medicines, and active rashes. Ask the clinician to mark the proposed zones and explain what will not be treated.

A staged plan may be more suitable than changing several facial areas at one visit. Use only the aftercare supplied for your product and contact the clinic before applying pressure or having another procedure nearby.

Report increasing redness, warmth, discharge, worsening swelling, or pain that is out of proportion. Seek emergency help for pale or dusky skin, blistering, sudden vision change, facial weakness, speech difficulty, or severe headache after an injection.

Ask: Which anatomical zones would you treat and at what depth? How will you preserve natural movement? What product are you using? How will you manage asymmetry or a complication, and where should I go if urgent symptoms occur?
