What should you know about cheek and jaw filler before and after?

Photographs can show a change in cheek projection, jawline contour or facial proportions, but they are not a promise of the same result for another person. Lighting, camera angle, expression, makeup, swelling and image editing can alter the comparison. The product, injection depth, amount used, anatomy and skin laxity also matter. A meaningful review considers whether the intended contour was achieved without making the face look overfilled, and whether temporary unevenness is settling.

Before treatment, discuss your desired change, previous procedures, allergies, medicines, dental appointments and any active irritation or infection. Ask for photographs taken under comparable conditions and ask when the clinic wants a review. Afterward, follow the practitioner’s care instructions, avoid manipulating the treated areas unless told to do so, and allow swelling or bruising to settle before comparing photographs.
