What should you know about cheek and jaw filler?

Cheek filler may restore or define midface support, while jawline filler can sharpen the transition from the lower face to the neck. The two areas influence overall balance, so adding volume in both does not automatically create a natural result. Facial width, chin projection, skin laxity, muscle activity and existing asymmetry all affect the plan. Filler cannot replace treatment for loose skin or change the underlying bone. A practitioner should explain whether one area should be treated first and how much correction is realistic.

Bring a list of medicines and supplements, disclose prior filler or dental work, and mention active skin infection, cold sores or a history of strong reactions. Keep the face clean as instructed and avoid unnecessary pressure on treated areas while swelling settles. Bruising, tenderness, firmness or uneven swelling may occur early. Report escalating pain, pale or dusky skin, unusual coolness, blistering, or swelling that is becoming more severe rather than settling. Seek urgent care for vision changes, severe headache, weakness, confusion or speech difficulty after an injection.
