What should you know about carboxytherapy for fat loss?

Short answer
Carboxytherapy may be offered for small localised fat concerns, but it is not a weight-loss treatment and outcomes vary.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What the procedure is intended to do
During carboxytherapy, carbon dioxide is delivered through a fine needle into a selected area. The proposed local tissue response may alter circulation and the appearance of treated fat or skin. It does not remove large amounts of body fat, treat obesity, or replace nutrition, movement, or medical weight management. A clinician should distinguish a fat deposit from swelling, a hernia, loose skin, or another lump before treatment.
How to assess the option
Have the provider examine the exact area and explain the intended endpoint: a contour change, skin texture improvement, or both. Discuss how many sessions may be considered, the time between them, discomfort, bruising, swelling, infection risk, and the possibility of limited visible change. Give a complete medical and medicine history, including diabetes, circulation problems, bleeding disorders, pregnancy, and prior body procedures. Choose a regulated setting with trained staff and clear follow-up.
When to seek care
Ask for medical review if redness spreads, pain intensifies, swelling becomes firm or extensive, the area drains, or you develop fever. Urgent assessment is needed for severe abdominal pain, breathing difficulty, fainting, or a rapidly enlarging treated area. Do not assume a new lump is a normal cosmetic response.
Questions for your doctor
Is the concern truly localised fat, and what result can this method reasonably target? Which alternatives fit my body and health history? How will you measure change and manage a complication?

Questions people ask
Will carboxytherapy make me lose weight?
No. It is a local aesthetic procedure and should not be presented as a way to reduce overall body weight.
Is one treatment enough?
Treatment plans vary by area and goal. A clinician should explain the proposed schedule and how improvement will be judged.
