Get prompt advice for worsening pain, increasing one-sided swelling, spreading redness, drainage, fever, an opening wound or a new concerning lump. Emergency symptoms include chest pain, breathing difficulty, collapse or sudden severe swelling. If a change persists after the expected healing period, arrange an examination instead of assuming it is part of normal recovery.
